Electrical Technician

Located in Houston, TX

Salary: $25-$30/HR

Position: Electrical Technician

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to evaluate, assemble, and maintain electrical systems primarily in portable equipment. While not involved in designing electrical systems, the Electrical Technician will play a crucial role in identifying potential design flaws and troubleshooting equipment issues.

Responsibilities:

• Assemble, evaluate, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
• Construct and fabricate parts according to specifications using hand tools.
• Read and interpret electrical and electronic circuit blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
• Provide recommendations for improvements in electrical system designs.
• Advise management on the continued use of unsuitable equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
• Supervise electricians when necessary.
• Order electrical supplies and equipment as needed. 

Requirements:

• 2-year electrical, technical, or related degree.
• Completion of an electrical apprenticeship.
• At least 2 years of experience as an electrical technician.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficiency in operating hand and power tools, soldering, and fault-testing equipment.
