Position: Food Sourcing Coordinator

Locations: Texarkana, AR

Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Pay: $35-40,000.00 DOE

Job Summary:  Manage the sourcing of the food through vendors, donors, retail partners, and the Feeding America network.  Educate existing and potential food donors on their food donation guidelines and benefits.  Monitor and report donation progress to retail partner managers, and program coordinators where applicable.  FULL TIME EXEMPT POSITION.

 

 

Reports To:  Executive Director

 

Job Duties:

  1. Identify target retail partners stores by retail account.
  2. Identify key potential food donors, manufacturers, and growers.
  3. Create and routinely implement an onsite visitation plan.
  4. Utilize retail store donation toolkit for each retail chain, to be used when visiting stores.
  5. Create and maintain a key contact database for all food donors and vendors.
  6. Coordinate and maintain the Feeding America receipt process.
  7. Work with Agency Relations to establish a process for managing agency pick-ups from Retail Store Donation Partners.
  8. Work with Drivers and Warehouse staff to ensure stores are ready for driver pick-ups and follow all donation guidelines.
  9. Work with PR/Communications colleagues to recognize food donors where applicable (food bank newsletter, website, direct mail, etc.).
  10. Provide weekly activity report on donor visits and store-level interactions.
  11. Work with Warehouse/Distribution Manager to coordinate and prepare all purchases of food items from approved vendors, within annual budget.

 

Qualifications and Experience    

  • 2-4 year degree and/or comparable experience in sales or working with retail customers preferred.
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills/Relationship building.
  • Capable of maintaining multiple vendor and food donor relationships
  • Experience in Retail Grocery Industry a plus.
  • Willingness to travel in and around Southwest AR and Northeast TX
