HR Coordinator/Recruiting Assistant | Part-Time | $25-$30/Hour | Eval Hire

Location: Dekalb, IL

Position Type: Part-time (32 hours per week), within the hours of 8am-5pm

Salary: $25+ per hour based on experience

Summary of Duties:

Our company is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Coordinator/Recruiting Assistant to join our team in Dekalb, IL. This part-time position involves assisting with the implementation of various HR programs, conducting new hire orientations, administering drug screenings, maintaining HR records, and coordinating recruitment efforts. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, the ability to adapt to changing priorities, and proficiency in Microsoft applications. Previous experience in high-volume recruiting and HR administration is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the implementation and coordination of a variety of Human Resources programs.
  • Provide appropriate communications to promote employee understanding of programs, policies, and objectives.
  • Ensure legal compliance with various governmental laws and regulations covering areas such as OSHA, EEOC, FMLA, safety, employment, wage and hour, and workers’ compensation.
  • Coordinate recruitment efforts, including managing the sourcing, recruiting, and interviewing process for hourly positions.
  • Conduct new hire orientations and safety training programs.
  • Administer drug screenings for all new hires.
  • Maintain all HR records and files, including I-9 documentation, medical files, and personnel files.
  • Act as a backup for accident investigation and incident reporting.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the management team.
  • Schedule monthly safety meetings and update weekly safety audit reports.
  • Backup to Payroll Accountant when required.
  • Coordinate office staff activities to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Run monthly reports for Man hours and Employee turnover.
  • Support other departments as needed.

Requirements:

  • Ability to adapt, work independently, and multitask effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in HR administration and high-volume recruiting.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Experience with drug screening administration and HR record management.
