Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with and support the activities of the Materials and Plant Manager in developing production plans, schedules, and controlling materials.
  • Coordinate with and support the activities of the Human Resources Manager with successful positive employee relations, developing and coaching employees, recruiting, policy enforcement and pay practices.
  • Provide and use (KPIs) Key Performance Indicators to develop strategies for long term development of the processes and employees in the Label department.
  • Audit manufacturing processes to ensure that safety rules and procedures are being followed to standard and take appropriate corrective actions as necessary.
  • Audit processes to ensure that the manufacturing discipline is adhering to production and quality procedures and practices. Take appropriate corrective or praising action as necessary.
  • Develop, implement, and sustain a continuous improvement program for the Label and Prepress departments that meets or exceeds facility improvement targets.
  • Engage and facilitate employees in continuous improvement activities.
  • Develop direct reports. Provide coaching, training, and resources to enable successful performance. Provide balanced performance feedback effectively and timely.
  • Sustain and improve the employee training program to ensure that all employees are given the support to efficiently gain the skills required to be successful.
  • Sustain appropriate accountability for personnel who do not meet the standard within a reasonable time period once given the training and resources.
  • Coordinate with the commercial team on assigned projects to assist in product development.
  • Identify and evaluate potential capital investments. Manage capital projects as assigned.
  • Develop a culture of safety compliance through training, reinforcement of risk management practices, and continuous observation and correction.
  • Coordinate with and support the activities of the Quality Manager in the establishment of continuous improvement quality activities. In particular, provide or coordinate technical expertise regarding manufacturing processes to the quality function.
  • Attend production meetings and present on the successes/failures/challenges/opportunities of the processes and employees.
  • Direct the workforce and encourage achievement of production standards and meeting production schedules.
  • Maintain a safe work place

Requirements:

  • EDUCATION: High School or equivalent degree
  • EXPERIENCE: minimum of 5 years of experience in managing a team in the manufacturing sector.
