Job Title: Structural Steel Fabrication Project Manager

Position Overview: As a Structural Steel Fabrication Project Manager, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of structural steel fabrication projects within our shop facility. Your responsibilities will include managing project timelines, budgets, resources, and communication with clients, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality fabricated steel products.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Coordination:

    • Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets in coordination with the client's requirements and internal stakeholders.
    • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, production, and quality control teams to ensure project objectives are met efficiently.
    • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  2. Client Communication:

    • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining regular communication to provide updates on project progress, address concerns, and ensure client satisfaction.
    • Collaborate with clients to understand project specifications, requirements, and timelines, ensuring alignment with project deliverables.
  3. Resource Management:

    • Allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
    • Coordinate with procurement and production teams to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment required for fabrication.
  4. Quality Assurance and Control:

    • Implement quality control procedures to ensure fabricated steel products meet industry standards and client specifications.
    • Conduct inspections and quality checks throughout the fabrication process to identify and address any deviations or defects.
  5. Budget and Cost Management:

    • Monitor project budgets, expenses, and resource utilization to ensure adherence to financial targets.
    • Identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising on quality or project objectives.
  6. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, drawings, change orders, and correspondence with clients and stakeholders.
    • Generate regular progress reports for internal stakeholders and clients, highlighting key milestones, issues, and action plans.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in project management, preferably in structural steel fabrication or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication processes, materials, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients, executives, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools for scheduling, budgeting, and documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and make sound decisions under pressure.
