Accounts Receivable Technician Position

Requirements:

• Proficient in computer data entry.
• Ability to perform detailed work, numerical and written accurately.
• Must be able to follow complex written and oral instructions Ability to work effectively with the public and co-workers both orally and in writing.
• High school graduate and Minimum Education and Certification: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Accounting/Finance or a closely related field is Preferred. Minimum Experience: Three (3) years of experience in accounting and accounts receivable or related field; or a combination of education training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the position duties and responsibilities.
• Must have a valid Colorado Driver’s License.

Duties include but not limited to:

• Respond to customer inquiries concerning water/refuse accounts and provide information regarding service request status.
• Prepare and reconcile utility billings.
• Prepare lists of delinquent accounts and coordinate with meter reader for disconnection notices.
• Prepare various summaries of billings and adjustments to utility revenue accounts.
• Answer incoming calls and route to appropriate personnel.  
• Monitor the front lobby area and direct customers to appropriate department.
• Sort mail daily and distribute to various departments.
• Manage phone call reminders for utility billing due dates.
• Work with online payment vendor to download payment files and reconcile utility billings.  
• Enter sales tax payments on an as needed basis.  
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Starting wage: $18.00-$20.00

Benefits: Accrued sick leave and optional medical benefits provided by Express Employment during probationary period. Full benefits once hired on with the company.
