Our client is seeking highly qualified applicants for a Facility Services Crew Leader. 

 

 

JOB SUMMARY
The Crew Leader will direct a crew unskilled, semi-skilled, and/or skilled manual workers in the construction, maintenance, landscape, beautification and repair of buildings, grounds, and facilities.

 

DUTIES

 

  • Leads, plans, and coordinates work of crew of service workers performing a variety of maintenance and construction activities.
  • Oversees construction of new facilities and major renovations to existing facilities
  • Completes minor maintenance tasks that may include but not be limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical or mechanical maintenance tasks.
  • Inspects project work for compliance with plans, performance standards, and safety regulations.
  • Inspects sewer rodding and hand cleaning of sewers and catch basins.
  • Oversees planting, propagation, maintenance, and care of lawns, shrubbery, trees, and flowers. 
  • Assists in the maintenance and cleaning of buildings.
  • Oversees maintenance, lining, and policing of athletic fields. 
  • Conducts accident investigations.
  • Provides training and instruction to subordinates.
  • Keeps records of labor and materials. 
  • Tracks, verifies, and approves subordinate time worked to supervisor.
  • Prepares detailed records and reports in a timely manner. 
  • Required to respond under emergency condition.
  • Assists in review and preparation of engineering plans and specifications. 
  • Prepares feasibility studies and work plans for crews. 
  • Assists with the clean-up of homeless encampments.
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of related, verifiable experience
  • Experience leading a team
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
  • A valid Georgia Driver’s License is required upon appointment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

 

  • Knowledge of general maintenance and repair work.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions in working with tools. 
  • Skill in the use and care of general maintenance and repair equipment and tools. 
  • Ability to plan, direct and lead work of others.
  • Ability to operate work related equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
