Line Supervisor
Express Employment is hiring a Production Line Supervisor for a Powder Coating and Sublimation Services company in St. Catharines. This company is responsible for powder coating of vehicles, and is seeking an individual who has experience as a Line Supervisor. The individual would be responsible for problem solving and monitoring the performances of the production line, providing daily feedback to management. Responsibilities
- Proven leadership skills and experience with a focus on leading by example.
- Demonstrated problem solving and priority management skills.
- Monitor the performance of the production line and provide daily feedback to the management team.
- Ensuring the culture, management practices, and work environment encourage a top performing, highly engaged, and diverse workforce.
- Understanding machine processes, production administration and associated systems, and quality standards within the plant.
- Monitor and adjust line metrics including oven temperatures, line speed, and chemicals.
- Effective communication with production employees and skilled machine operators.
- Compare work orders with product delivered to ensure proper paperwork.
- Get familiar with loading methods for the various part profiles.
- Work closely with the Plant Manager and loaders to ensure materials are being loaded on the line in accordance with best practices and with optimal line density.
- Review customer product drawings for proper loading instructions. Communicate loading instructions to loaders.
- Monitor customer materials for defects / damage, communicate any issues to the quality team and Plant Manager immediately.
- Continually and critically monitoring machine center operational effectiveness to reduce waste
- Ensure that customer service is prioritized in the plant operations.
- Understanding raw material and labor costing.
- Understand company safety regulations and relevant occupational health and safety legislation and ensure safe work practices are being implemented, followed, and taught with a hands-on leadership approach.
- Lead and support Health and Safety policies; conduct workplace inspections to ensure compliance. Responsible for supervising operators in accordance with OHSA, Company EH&S policies and procedures (including WHMIS, PPE etc.)
- Maintain open dialogue with management to improve health, safety, and operational standards within the facility
- Promote teamwork amongst all shift personnel to keep operations efficient and free from accidents.
- Liaises with the Quality, Maintenance and Shipping Departments to minimize downtime and ensure product safety and quality.
Schedule
Day shifts: 7:00 AM- 4:30 PM
Salary
$50,000-$60,000 Annually or ($25-$27 per hour)
