Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and bilingual Office Admin/Heavy Lifter to join our team. This position requires proficiency in both English and Spanish, strong organizational skills, basic computer proficiency, and excellent customer service abilities. In addition to traditional receptionist duties, this role involves occasional forklift operation and handling of lumber for walk-in customers. The ideal candidate is reliable, adaptable, and eager to learn and grow with our company.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Reception Duties:

    • Greet and assist visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
    • Answer phone calls, transfer calls, and take messages as needed.
    • Respond to emails and inquiries promptly and courteously.
    • Maintain a tidy and welcoming reception area.
  2. Customer Service:

    • Assist walk-in customers with inquiries, orders, and loading lumber.
    • Provide accurate information about products, pricing, and availability.
    • Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing concerns and resolving issues effectively.
  3. Bilingual Skills:

    • Communicate fluently in both English and Spanish, both verbally and in writing.
    • Translate documents, messages, and conversations as necessary.
    • Serve as a language resource for colleagues and customers.
  4. Forklift Operation:

    • Operate a forklift to load plywood and other materials for customers.
    • Safely maneuver forklift to transport materials within the facility.
    • Follow proper procedures for forklift operation and maintenance.
  5. Lumber Handling:

    • Lift and carry lumber weighing 60-70 lbs to assist walk-in customers.
    • Ensure accurate counting and measuring of lumber for customer orders.
    • Maintain a clean and organized lumber storage area.
  6. Office Administration:

    • Perform basic clerical tasks such as filing, copying, and data entry.
    • Assist with inventory management and order processing as needed.
    • Learn and use software applications such as Excel and other office tools.
  7. Professionalism:

    • Uphold office etiquette and dress code standards at all times.
    • Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions with customers, colleagues, and vendors.
    • Represent the company positively in person, over the phone, and via email.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a receptionist or customer service role preferred.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 70 lbs) and operate a forklift safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in tasks.
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday, 8am-3pm.
  • Starting pay of $15 per hour with opportunities for growth and advancement.
