Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented individual with experience in machine shop or precision manufacturing environments to join our team as a CNC Machine Operator. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of machining fundamentals and demonstrate proficiency in operating CNC machines.
Responsibilities:
- Measure dimensions of finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Transfer commands from servers to computer numerical control (CNC) modules, utilizing computer network links to input programming codes.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure workpieces are properly lubricated and cooled, making adjustments as necessary to maintain optimal performance.
- Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces on machines using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts to ensure smooth operation.
- Stop machines as needed to remove finished workpieces or to change tooling, setup, or workpiece placement, following safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and optimize machining processes for efficiency and quality.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, including machine settings, tooling changes, and inspection results.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines to promote a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and skill enhancement to stay abreast of advancements in machining technologies and techniques.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in machining or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a machine shop or precision manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools and precision measuring instruments effectively.
- Familiarity with CNC programming and operation preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain quality standards under tight deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
