Express Employment Professionals is looking to add a Construction Finish/ Punch-out Specialist to our Palm City team!
Primary Objective:
The Construction Finish/Punch-out Specialist is responsible for completing the final phases of a construction project by installing, repairing, and finishing various building elements, such as doors, windows, trim, cabinetry, and other interior and exterior fixtures. They are highly skilled craftsmen who ensure that the project''s finishing details meet design specifications and quality standard.
Responsibilities/ Qualifications:
- Site Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of the construction site, including interior and exterior areas, to identify any issues, defects, or incomplete work.
- Communication: Collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, subcontractors, and other relevant parties to communicate and coordinate punch list items.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all work is completed according to specifications, codes, and quality standards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of punch list items, their status, and completion dates.
- Finish Carpentry: Perform skilled finish carpentry work, including installing and trimming doors, windows, baseboards, crown molding, and other decorative elements.
- Cabinet Installation: Install kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, and other built-in cabinetry, ensuring precise measurements, leveling, and alignment.
- Flooring: Install and finish various types of flooring materials, such as hardwood, laminate, tile, and carpet.
- Trim and Moldings: Apply and install decorative moldings, casing, chair rails, and wainscoting to enhance the visual appeal of interior spaces.
- Hardware Installation: Mount and install hardware, including handles, knobs, locks, and hinges, ensuring proper functionality.
- Exterior Finishes: Complete exterior finishing work, including siding, soffits, fascia, and other elements to enhance the building''s appearance and protect it from the elements.
- Drywall and Painting: Perform drywall installation, finishing, and painting tasks as needed to achieve smooth and attractive wall surfaces.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any unexpected issues or challenges that may arise during the punch out process.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all finishing work meets design specifications, building codes, and quality standards.
- Material Selection: Assist in selecting and sourcing finishing materials, finishes, and paints to achieve the desired aesthetic and durability.
- Safety: Follow safety protocols and practices to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other tradespeople, contractors, and project managers to coordinate finishing tasks with the overall project timeline.
Requirements:
- 5 years’ experience in construction required
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training or certification in finish carpentry or a related field is advantageous.
- Proven experience as a Finish Carpenter or similar role in the construction industry.
- Previous experience in construction, construction inspection, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and precision in measurements and installations.
- Knowledge of construction processes, materials, building codes and regulations related to finishing work.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read construction plans and blueprints.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools relevant to finish work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Creativity and a keen eye for aesthetics to achieve a high-quality finish.
- Commitment to safety and knowledge of safety protocols.
