Job Summary/Company Information: 

CNC Machinist/Programmer

This is a DIRECT Hire CNC Machinist opportunity for a Indianapolis-South Custom Machine Shop that has been in business for more than 70 years. They make custom parts for the automotive, medical devices, aerospace, electronic industry and more.

• The CNC Machinist is responsible for job method planning, setting-up, programming, operating machine tools.
• Will have to have the ability to run a variety of materials from plastics to high temp alloys such as Inconel 718.
• Manufacture a variety of parts from multiple industries from automotive support tooling and gauging to flight hardware for the aerospace and military industries.
• Program CNC machines using Mastercam. Set up CNC machines by installing and adjusting tooling, fixtures, and workpieces.
• Collaborate with Engineers and Managers to optimize machining processes and improve efficiency.

Hours: Monday- Friday: 6:30AM-5:00PM (Flexible scheduling as needed)

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in CNC machining preferred.
• Proven experience as a CNC machinist programmer, with proficiency in programming and operating CNC mills and/or lathes.
• Proficiency in CAM software (Mastercam, Solidworks)
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T symbols
• Experience with precision measuring instruments such as micrometer, calipers and height gauges.
