Accounting Clerk

Located in Ottawa, ON

Salary: $22.04 to $24.04

Our client, a food distribution company located in the East End, is currently looking for an Accounting Clerk to join their team. This company is experiencing tremendous growth and going through an exciting transitionary phase in their operations. Therefore, the successful candidate must be comfortable working in an unstructured environment with changing priorities and evolving procedures which requires patience and adaptability.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Accounts payable and receivable
• Enter invoices into SAP (approximately 15-20 per month)
• Enter journal entries
• Bill / Invoice customers
• Match customer payments and enter into the system
• Verify invoice accuracy
• Assist with monthly inventory count accuracy checks
• Reorganizing and maintaining proper filing system
• Other duties as assigned (Data entry, scanning, etc.)

Required skills and qualifications:

• Must be bilingual in English and Arabic
• 1-2 years of accounting experience
• Accounting or Business Diploma and/or Degree preferred
• Comfortable working for an industrial company – blue collar environment
• Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to multitask and support multiple departments
• Exceptional organizational and accuracy skills
• ERP experience an asset
• Must have own vehicle as public transportation is not available 

Work Hours: Monday to Friday – 9:00am to 5:00pm 

Starting Wage is between $22.04 to $24.04 per hour, depending on experience
