Quality Control Technician Job Description

 

Position Description

A Quality Control Technician is responsible for maintain quality-assurance processes, testing products and recording and analyzing results data during product development and manufacturing.  Reporting to Epoxy Coating supervisor, quality control technicians follow- through on set processes and ensure adherence to best production practices and product quality standards as well as monitoring the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of product output.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·        Developing and maintaining company inspection reports.

·        Inspecting goods or products according to quality and safety standards.

·        Ensuring goods and products comply with company standards as well as Federal and State law.

·        Ensuring test equipment is calibrated and working correctly.

·        Reporting quality anomalies to the supervisor.

·        Collating test data and drafting quality reports.

·        Identifying possible areas for improvement in quality control processes.

·        Ensuring production is not hindered by quality testing procedures.

·        Monitor the integrity and quality of products without impeding production rates.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience as an Inspection or Quality Technician or Department Manager
  • High-level of visual awareness.
  • Experience drafting reports and collating data.
  • Ability to work alone with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical information.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills.
  • Pays close attention to detail.
  • Possesses physical strength necessary to lift and move heavy objects.
  • Have a strong working knowledge of mathematical concepts.
  • Demonstrates solid problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates awareness of proper warehouse and factory safety procedures.

 

Education and Experience

 

  • High School Diploma or GED and 2 Year Trade School or equivalent experience is required.
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel, Project Management, and Analytics software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
