Senior Maintenance Electrician

Located in Kentwood, MI

Salary: $27/hour plus a $2 shift pre

Senior Maintenance Electrician: A growing manufacturer in Grand Rapids is seeking a Senior Maintenance Electrician to join their team. The Senior Maintenance Electrician will perform all complex troubleshooting on electrical systems and plant equipment, installs large equipment and components, responsible for the maintenance department when the Maintenance Manager is absent. Follows all plant safety rules and established maintenance department procedures and updates all changes on electrical prints.

 

Senior Maintenance Electrician Responsibilities:

• Performs complex troubleshooting of electrical and equipment
• Runs electrical wiring per Nationals Electrical Code (less than high voltage)
• Updates existing computer programs to meet specific needs of plant operations and compiles engineering programs, databases or source codes
• Installs large equipment, components and systems with and without outside resources
• Must be able to plan, build, and install new machinery at an engineering level
• Plans electrical layouts for updates on machinery and follows through to completion
• Writes small computer programs additions and implements
• Advises manufacturing of suggestions that would optimize production and minimize downtime and scrap
• Gives direction to the maintenance department and other maintenance employees in the absence of the maintenance manager
• Trains other maintenance personnel as needed
• Recognizes safety hazards on equipment and in the plant and initiates corrective actions
• Follows lockout procedures and plant safety rules
• Maintains good housekeeping in the work area
• Calibrates and repairs control systems and process circuits
• Assesses and communicates the electrical requirements for the plant to the Plant Manager
• Ability to use programmers to program machinery and equipment
• Performs other duties as assigned by the designated supervisor

 

Senior Maintenance Electrician Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Some college courses or additional training in both mechanical and electrical skills preferred
• 5+ years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance preferred
• Color recognition for wiring purposes
• Basic knowledge of computers in association with troubleshooting devices
• Ability to obtain forklift license
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs repeatedly

 

• Schedule:
• 2^nd shift – Monday-Friday, 2:30pm-10:30pm
• Pay:
• $27/hour plus a $2 shift premium for 2^nd and 3^rd shift
