Maintenance Electrician II

Located in Kentwood, MI

Salary: $23/hour plus a $2 shift pre

Maintenance Electrician II.: A growing manufacturer in Grand Rapids is seeking an Maintenance Electrician II to join their team. The Maintenance Electrician II will plan electrical updates on plant equipment, troubleshoot plant equipment and is responsible for keeping up with assigned work orders.

 

Maintenance Electrician II Responsibilities:

• Runs electrical wiring per the National Electric Code (less than high voltage) and performs minor repairs at the board level
• Plans layouts and wires electrical for updates on machinery and follows projects through to completion
• Updates minor changes on electrical prints
• Troubleshoots machinery with without the use of control prints
• Writes small computer program additions and implements
• Recognizes safety hazards on equipment and initiates corrective actions
• Provides training for other Maintenance personnel
• Follows lockout procedures and safety rules
• Handles and labels hazardous and/or nonhazardous chemical containers properly
• Calibrates machine controllers
• Performs preventative maintenance on all equipment, buildings, and machines as assigned
• Operates cutting torch and welder as assigned by designated supervisor

 

Maintenance Electrician II Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Advanced technical training or 2-4 years of industrial maintenance experience is preferred
• Color recognition for wiring purposes
• Knowledge of plant operations
• Understanding of basic electrical
• Basic knowledge of computers in association with troubleshooting devices
• Ability to obtain forklift license
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs repeatedly

 

• Schedule:
• 1^st shift – Monday-Friday, 7am-3pm
• 2^nd shift – Monday-Friday, 2pm-10pm
• 3^rd shift – Monday-Friday, 10pm-6am or 11pm-7am
• Pay:
• $23/hour plus a $2 shift premium for 2^nd and 3^rd shift
