Production/Quality Control Associate - Day Shift

Located in Tualatin, OR

Salary: $18/hr.

Our client in Tualatin is seeking a skilled Production/Racking Associate to join their dynamic team. This company specializes in transforming raw metal through the entire galvanizing process. As a Production Racker, your role will primarily involve outdoor work alongside a lead operator who manages the forklift operations. Your responsibilities will include bundling large metal pieces, securely attaching them to overhead cranes using proper chaining and hooking techniques, and initiating the galvanizing process.

 

As you progress in this role, there will be an opportunity to move into other roles such as Quality Control, Forklift Operator, and Kettle Operator. To progress you will need to be reliable as well as be able to perform your job.

 

This is an evaluation to full-time hire opportunity

 

Duties

• Inspect all metal pieces, safely and properly connect metal hooks/chains to fixtures
• Gather groups of metal fixtures/pieces and hand wire the parts to racks for the galvanizing process
• Move lightweight pieces of steel by hand from different locations in the plant and yard
• Use air or electric-powered tools to help prepare or clean up steel for pickling or galvanizing
• Assist in general plant clean-up and housekeeping as directed
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs):

• HS Diploma/GED
• Ability to work outside and then undercover in a production facility where the doors are open at all times
• Must be safety conscious and be able to understand how to work around forklifts and equipment constantly moving 
• The ability to communicate problems or needs to leads and supervisors
• The ability to lift to 50 pounds from ground to shoulder height or higher
• Must be physically able to stand for long periods (length of shift) in open air environment: wear PPE; maintain a safe work environment
• PPE provided by you: Steel toe boots with metatarsal guards are required (Express has a program to help with the purchase of these items)
• PPE provided by client: Hard hat, gloves, high vis jacket/vest, and protective glasses

Pay: $18.00/hr.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM – 3 PM
