Order Filler- Swing Shift

Get ready to take center stage as an Order Filler for a local Metal Distributor, driving the heartbeat of our client’s operations! Your role revolves around managing inventory, crafting orders, and loading trucks for next-day deliveries. You will operate forklifts and side loaders to handle metal products, all while championing safety, precision, and the art of on-time order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive familiarity with various metals like stainless steel, cold-rolled steel, and similar materials is highly desired. While experience with an overhead crane is preferred, we're willing to provide training.  

 

Schedule: Monday-Friday 2:00 pm-11:30 pm

Training Schedule: Monday-Friday 6 am-2:30 pm

Pay: $24/hr. to start up to $27/hr. DOE.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Order Fulfillment: Accurately pick and pack metal products according to customer orders and specifications.

Forklift & Side Loader Operation: Safely operate forklifts and side loaders to move, stack, and transport metal materials within the warehouse or distribution center.

Inventory Management: Assist in inventory counts, cycle counts, and stock replenishment to maintain accurate inventory levels. Utilize inventory management systems to track and locate merchandise.

Building Orders: Follow picking lists or digital orders to assemble materials for outgoing shipments, ensuring completeness and accuracy.

Loading and Unloading: Load trucks with orders, optimizing space utilization and securing loads to prevent damage during transit. Unload incoming shipments and verify their accuracy against packing lists.

Quality Control: Inspect materials for any defects or damages before packaging and shipment, ensuring only high-quality products are dispatched.

Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery, handling materials, and working in the warehouse environment. Hard hat and safety glasses are to be always worn when on the warehouse floor.

Collaboration: Coordinate with the team to ensure smooth workflow and timely deliveries, communicating any discrepancies or issues promptly.

Skills and Experience:

Forklift Certification: Sit-down forklift experience is REQUIRED, and side loader experience is PREDERRED, if not we will train.

Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy when picking, packing, and checking orders.

Team Player: Capacity to collaborate effectively within a team and contribute to a positive work culture.

Organizational Skills: Capability to manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks, and multitask effectively.
