Express Allen is seeking a CAD-CAM/Estimator. This role plays a pivotal role in our organization, focusing on reviewing drawings, creating CAM programs, estimating costs, and managing lead time parameters. Utilizing tools like Solidworks, Mastercam, and Merry Mechanization, the incumbent ensures seamless transition from design to production.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Convert AutoCAD drawings into CAM-usable formats, leveraging proficiency in DXF format and Solidworks files.
• Interpret and dimension CAD models using Mastercam and Merry Mechanization.
• Apply knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, and materials to produce accurate drawings.
• Verify the precision and completeness of manufacturing or purchasing information.
• Prepare work estimates by analyzing proposals, blueprints, and specifications.
• Generate Shop Travelers for shop personnel and maintain their accuracy through updates and validations.
• Collaborate with management to quote prices and lead times for requests for quotes.
• Identify labor, material, and time requirements by analyzing proposals and documents.
• Facilitate communication between departments to resolve customer requirements effectively.
• Adhere to profit guidelines established by management.

Requirements:

• Experience in sheet metal fabrication and/or machine shop operations.
• Proficiency in Solidworks, Mastercam, and Merry Mechanization.
• Strong understanding of CAD/CAM principles and practices.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
