1st Shift - Quality Technician

Are you passionate about maintaining quality standards and ensuring precision in manufacturing processes? A local Kansas City, KS company is seeking a dedicated Quality Technician to join their team! This is an evaluation hire (potential direct placement for the right candidate), with room for advancement and growth opportunities. This role involves performing a variety of quality control tasks, including measuring parts, conducting internal audits, and calibrating test equipment.

PAY: $19 - $20/hr

SCHEDULE:  Mon – Fri, 6:00am – 2:30pm

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

As a Quality Technician, you will:

  • Read and interpret part drawings and technical specifications.
  • Develop and enhance inspection instructions to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Conduct inspections using measuring and test equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation and records for quality assurance purposes.
  • Perform internal audits to ensure compliance with manufacturing standards and company procedures.
  • Assist in continuous improvement initiatives, statistical studies, and efficiency enhancements.
  • Compare quality standards with customer requirements and provide support during PPAP processes.
  • Calibrate and maintain a database of all gauging equipment.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Two years of relevant experience in quality control or a related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude for computations and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, for data management and reporting.

DESIRED CERTIFICATIONS

  • Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Operator or Programmer certification.
  • Internal Auditor certification.
  • Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) knowledge.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Regular standing, walking, and use of hands for handling tools and equipment.
  • Clear vision and hearing abilities, with the capability to reach, stoop, kneel, or crawl as needed.
