SUMMARY
The Business Solutions Specialist’s primary emphasis is on bringing in new business. This is done by qualifying
potential business opportunities and contacting key decision makers through a combination of social selling tools,
phone, video, email and in person sales calls. Successful people in this role are comfortable engaging with
businesspeople at all levels and selling critical business services. This requires the ability to use consultative selling
techniques (communication skills, questioning, and listening techniques, etc.), digital marketing platforms, and the
discipline to be persistent while following a daily and weekly plan and demonstrating the desire and drive to
become a top performing sales professional.
Estimated Overview of Time Commitment a day:
• 6 hours on Sales Calls/Activity
• 1 hour on Sales Planning
• 1 hour on Marketing Activity
Daily Activity:
• 20 DM calls, including 3 appointments
• 50 Prospect LinkedIn Connections
• 1 Marketing Email Segment
• 5 Social Media engagements (Posts, Responses)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Generate a sufficiently high level of sales activity to secure a minimum of two new clients per week.
(30 hrs./wk.)
o Effectively meet, virtually and/or in person, with decision-makers to assess needs and to secure
accounts.
o Introduce Express through discovery, planned, appointments, and other call to Connect with 100
Decision Makers through phone, video, and in-person visits.
o Regularly utilize sales lead tools (Emsi, ReferenceUSA, LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.) to effectively source
and connect with a minimum of 250 prospects per week through online marketing channels
(LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.).
o Schedule 15 appointments per week with Decision Makers.
o Utilizing social platforms to generate and promote client engagement to build a referral-based
culture and produce a minimum of 2 client referrals/leads each week.
o Document 100% of calls in the automated system and set a next action step to keep
prospects/clients in the sales pipeline.
• Develop a Sales Action Plan for each prospect on the Top 20 Hit List. (1 hr./wk.)
o Develop a quarterly sales plan identifying potential new clients and diversified business
opportunities.
o Take the lead in coordinating ongoing sales activities for Top 20 Hit List prospects.
o Research accounts, establish meetings, and develop pitch decks, focusing on prospect’s needs.
o Responsible for maintaining the company’s sales marketing program(s) (i.e. Click2Sell, LinkedIn
prospecting, Emma Segments, etc.) and ensuring necessary messages, graphics, and documents
are available and timely.
o Login and research your current to top 20 and top 50 prospects websites. Research all current
job openings on their site and create new client MPC lists, subscribe to their job boards and
utilize these leads to scheduled appointments for the Client Specialist weekly. Additionally, utilize
this tool to expand your relationship at each current client and partner with additional
departments and decision makers.
o Perform monthly credit checks to the top 20 prospects before you sell to them. Ensuring we are
not wasting valuable time selling to a client we will eventually decline; this reduces closing time.
• Develop a Marketing Action Plan to elevate the Express Employment Professionals brand within the
territory. (5 hrs./wk.)
o Work closely with the owner and internal team to develop the annual marketing strategy,
editorial calendar and influencer engagement strategies to drive both brand awareness and lead
generation (1 hr./month)
o Prepare and execute a monthly digital sales and marketing plan to maximize online engagement
to support a Client Loss Ratio goal of 30% or less. (1 hr./month)
o Use a Story Telling Marketing approach (building a brand through social media platforms) to
present full-service capabilities
▪ Daily utilization and engagement on social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn,
Instagram, etc.), posting 5 times per day focusing on relevant client information to
increase branding, engagement/communication, and lead generation. (15 mins/day)
▪ Utilize detailed understanding of buyer’s journey and marketing funnel stages to
execute Express Marketing programs, create blog posts and videos, and distribute
engaging sales content on social platforms on a weekly basis to attract prospects and
encourage influencer engagement. (15 mins/day)
▪ Create and send videos (of staff, team and/or franchise owner) weekly, sharing via
Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, our Websites and YouTube pages. Sharing key
information about the team, a specific staff member’s story, share who our clients
would be working with, their franchisee’s weekly update about the franchise.
Consistently sending our prospects and current client’s pictures, videos, experiences and
visual and emotional examples of who we are. (30 mins/wk.)
o Promote Express through a minimum of 5 media contacts (journalist, reporters, bloggers, etc.)
utilizing press releases and white papers. (30 mins/mn)
o Maximize online reputation through “why us” marketing that includes Net Promoter Client and
Talent rankings, increasing online reviews on Google, Facebook, Yelp, etc. by a minimum of 2 per
week, and utilizing positive reviews across multiple marketing channels and promotional
materials. (30 mins/mn)
o Organize special events to attract client and prospects to do business with the Express office. (30
mins/wk)
▪ Collaborate with the team to plan, execute, and promote Express’ thought leadershipbased events (ExpressTalks, Monday Morning Leadership, etc.) as well as planning and
participating in other events (networking, workshops, trainings, presentation) both inperson and virtual to increase brand awareness of Express.
▪ Create and manage “meet ups”, in-person or virtual events, that can create “why me”
differentiation in our marketplace.
o Evaluate performance of content through established analytical reports from Google Analytics,
Social Studio, Facebook Insights, etc. while constantly experimenting to improve and optimize
performance across all channels (15 mins/month)
• Prepare and execute a daily sales plan to maximize territory management. (4 hrs./wk.)
o Use the automated system to prepare a daily sales plan identifying companies and decision
makers to contact.
o Maximize sales efficiency by properly using account classification, territory management, and
automated sales/marketing systems.
o Maintain, refine and utilize the Express automated marketing tools such as Emma to develop and
distribute marketing emails, white papers, and media relation materials in accordance with the
marketing calendar at least three times per week to target key accounts and provide Express
Knowledge-based campaigns, MPC segments, client/prospect value added content. (30
mins/wk.)
o Manage Ad Chase leads, update MPC marketing lists, and establish focused content based on
prospect’s needs. (30 mins/wk.)
o Classify prospects and set the appropriate call frequency based on potential business.
o Monitor and engage in conversations across social media, identifying real-time issues for
escalation, as well as engagement opportunities and emerging trends. (15 mins/day)
• Execute the Total Client Care sales strategy to present full-service capabilities.
o Identify and follow up regularly with key accounts and develop unique value-added sales
opportunities, for example, provide Express knowledge-based campaigns, arrange MPC calls with
the Employment Specialists, and invite them to Express training events (ExpressTalks).
o Sell all product and service lines.
o Deliver the Client Care Packet to all new clients.
• Effectively work with and communicate with internal team.
o Meet with the inside team daily to ensure sales and recruiting are in sync and clients’ needs are
being met.
o Perform other related duties as necessary and assigned.
• Conduct business in accordance with Express Guidelines and applicable Federal/State Legal Guidelines.
o Must have thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations, including, but not
limited to the Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, Americans with
Disabilities Act, Equal Pay Act, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, as they relate to employment.
o Develop a thorough knowledge of the staffing and placement services offered by Express as well
as pricing techniques and strategies.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Demonstrated success with direct sales and social selling in a B2B or B2C environment
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, & Outlook, social platforms, and email marketing tools.
• Creative software experience preferred
• CMS experience preferred
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical
procedures, governmental regulations, reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to
respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, media, regulatory agencies, or members of the
business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or board of
directors. Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative
situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; participates in meetings. Edits work for
spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet needs; presents numerical data effectively.
COMPUTER/TECHNICAL SKILLS
Job requires skillful use of various computer and digital applications including web, digital marketing, database,
spreadsheet, word processing, presentation creation/editing, communicate by e-mail and use scheduling software.
• Working knowledge of digital networking platforms
• Experience with Content Management Systems preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Primary activities are conducted within a well-lit, climate-controlled office.
• Occasional trips to client locations require travel and potential exposure to weather.
• Climb stairs and carry necessary marketing materials, gifts, and supplies.
• Ability to sit for extended periods and maintain the normal range of body motion.
• Must be able to work effectively under stress.
• Occasional out-of-town trips may be required
