Position Summary:

 

Under general supervision, supports companies needs through installing, repairing, replacing and maintaining electrical equipment, fixtures and systems.  Completes electrical preventative maintenance and TPM projects.  Performs electrical repairs and preventive maintenance on a wide variety of facility and production equipment, fixtures and systems.  Performs basic personal computer tasks (window functions, outlook, word, excel). Also competent in programming PLC’s.  Demonstrates initiative to learn new programming software’s as needed.  Performs basic and advanced troubleshooting on machine tools (CNC).  Assist engineering when needed.

 

Essential Functions:

 

Work safely and without injury.

Assembles and installs electrical, mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment and systems such as production machinery/ fixtures.

Performs assigned work in compliance with National Electric Code.

Maintains electrical log of new construction work performed.

Uses variety of hand and power tools, and machines to perform duties.

Troubleshoots and repairs electrical and/or electro-mechanical equipment and systems requiring the isolation of the malfunction, disassembly of equipment and repair/replacement of electrical and electronic parts and components: wiring, controllers, switches, motors, PLCs, circuit boards, relays, enclosures, etc.

Reviews work requests for electrical repairs and maintenance determines nature of problem and recommends appropriate solution.

Conducts preventive maintenance inspections and performs required preventive maintenance actions such as electrical panel inspection, motor insulation, wire connections, safety devices, proper operation, cleaning,  etc.

Responsible for prompt and regular attendance as scheduled.

May perform preventive maintenance on equipment and mechanical systems.

May perform non-certified welding and simple machining operations incidental to repair and maintenance tasks.

May do limited carpentry and painting.

May have assigned duties in carrying out the hazardous materials program.

May participate in company Selection Process.

Participates in team meetings as required (safety, problem-solving, etc.)

Implements the Quality Policy and Procedures in all aspects of daily duties and responsibilities.

May be required to work overtime.

Program PLC’s and incorporate in a project.

Use personal computer window applications to perform job functions and team communications.

Ability to understand control systems and manufacturing machinery.

Ability to identify root cause and recommend improvements if needed.

Perform basic troublseshooting on CNC machine tools and may be asked to troubleshoot to higher levels if needed.

Positively engage with engineering when asked to assist with automation projects.

Performs other various duties as may be assigned.

Required Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or GED.

Two or more years Journeyman Manufacturing Plant Electrical experience preferred.

Current State of Oregon Limited Journeyman Manufacturing Plant License or State of Oregon General Journeyman Licensed is required.

Two-year technical school in control systems preferred.

Ability to troubleshoot machinery to a basic level as well as to troubleshoot to the component level if needed.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is continuously standing, repetitively grasping and repetitively using fine manipulation with the hands.  The team member may be frequently required to walk, bend, squat, or twist as well as repetitively push or pull.  Individual must be able to work at heights.  Will be required to frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.

Environment/Atmospheric Conditions:

This position is performed in a shop environment.  Team members in this position will be exposed to loud operating machinery, cold temperatures, chemicals and vapors.  The team member will frequently be required to work outside and at heights.  The team member may occasionally be required to work in an office environment.

Machines, Tools Equipment, Software:

Hand and power tools, ladders, lifts, etc.  Personal computer, PLC programming experience preferably with GE Fanuc controllers.
