Title: CNC & Manual Machinist

Wage: $24/hr

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced CNC & Manual Machinist to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone who has a passion for machining and takes pride in creating precision metal parts. With several years of experience in both manual and CNC machining, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of machines, producing and repairing high-quality parts with close tolerances.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate a range of machines, including Swiss screw machines, lathes, milling machines, shapers, and grinders, ensuring the manufacturing or repair of precision metal parts meets specifications.
• Interpret sample parts, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of the finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
• Conduct trial runs to verify the accuracy of machine settings and programmed control data. Adjust machine controls or control media as necessary.
• Ensure machined workpiece conforms to specifications, identifying and correcting malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
• Collaborate with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
• Install machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, testing operation to ensure functionality and performance.

Position Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 5 years of experience in the setup and operation of various manual and CNC machine tools.
• Proficiency in CNC machine programming.
• A meticulous attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Mechanically inclined with excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and self-motivated.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Journeymen Machinists are highly encouraged to apply.
• Experience with SolidWorks, CAMWorks.
• Expertise in Swiss screw machine setup and programming.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to regularly lift up to 20 pounds unassisted and occasionally up to 50 pounds unassisted. Familiarity with using overhead cranes for heavier lifts.
• Must be able to stand for 8 hours and perform regular bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing.
• The work environment is bright and temperature-controlled, involving contact with various metals and oils.
