EHS Specialist

This is a DIRECT HIRE EHS Specialist opportunity for Columbus manufacturer that creates product for the automotive industry and has been in business for over 35 years.

• The primary function is to coordinate and execute Environment, Health and Safety Programs to on 90 employees that operate on a 24-7 production operation.
• The EHS Specialist ensures compliance with regulations and company policies, interacts with associates on the shop floor, conduct workplace audit and inspections, and assists with maintaining ISO 9001 & 14001 certificates.
• Conduct risk assessments and implements strategies to prevent accidents and injuries, developing policies and procedures, and provide training to employees.
• Manage programs geared to protect the health and safety of company employees, visitors, and contractors, as well as the company''s compliance with regulations. Maintain records of training, qualifications, certifications, etc., as they apply to the safety program
• Monitor operations for compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Create reports to document environmental compliance activities.
• Provide training to new hires and enable effective operation of the established safety systems.
• Maintain and analyze safety records and data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Pay/Benefits:

• $80,000-$90,000 based upon experience

Requirements:

• Candidate must have a 3-5 years of experience in Industrial Safety Compliance with the ability to interpret OSHA and EPA regulations.
• Bachelor''s degree in an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) related field is preferred, though equivalent work experience will also be considered.
• Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills, and a background in training.
• Understanding of the technical knowledge of the industry.
• Basic computer knowledge including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
