Maintenance Technician I

Located in Grand Rapids, MI

Salary: $26-$28/hour

Maintenance Technician Job Summary:

An automotive manufacturing company based in Grand Rapids, MI is hiring Maintenance Technicians to their team. The Maintenance Technician 1 performs machine repairs, fabrication projects, and preventive / predictive maintenance activities.  The Maintenance Technician 1 performs preventive maintenance work as assigned and scheduled by the CMMS.  Maintenance Technician 1 responds to machine repair calls and projects as assigned or directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.

 

 

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:

• Completion of assigned equipment PM activities as scheduled by CMMS
• Perform basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs
• Perform machining operations using lathe, mill, drill press, and bandsaws
• Perform fabrication projects using welding and bolted assembly
• Complete and accurately enter work activity into CMMS
• Daily housekeeping and 5S of work areas and maintenance shop
• Knowledge and practice of Hutchinson’s Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures, and requirements

• Other duties as assigned

 

Schedule & Pay:

• 7am-7pm (4^th shift), Friday-Sunday
• 7pm-7am (5^th shift), Friday-Sunday

• $26-$28/hour

 

Maintenance Technician Qualifications:

• Ability to interpret and understand blueprints and schematics
• 3+ years’ experience completing mechanical troubleshooting and repair; automotive manufacturing experience is a plus
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to communicate effectively with various departments
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly
• This role requires successful completion of pre-employment screens including a background check and drug screen
