A well-known electrical services company located in Decatur, Illinois is looking for an Human Resources Specialist for their wholesale division. This company offers a complete line of services that include: sales of new products, installation of new equipment, and repair of existing equipment.  This is a long-term position.

 

Qualifications for Human Resources Specialist

 

The right person for this position will be able to recommend and implement new approaches, policies, and procedures that will make an important impact on the business with a goal of continual improvement in the services provided and the effectiveness of this critical department.

 

• Three to seven years of related experience in Human Resources activities
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or applicable business field preferred
• Clear and strong communication ability both verbally and in writing
• Ability to make presentations and conduct training to individuals and groups
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)

 

Responsibilities for Human Resources Specialist

•  Review and rewrite job descriptions as necessary
• Conduct annual salary survey and analyze compensation plans
• Monitor the performance evaluation program and implement improvements as needed
• Develop and administer applicant testing as well as evaluate results
• Recruit for professional and hourly positions by writing and placing advertisements, reviewing applicants, screening possible candidates, and conducting interviews
• Evaluate and revise company policies and procedures for consistency across multiple divisions and departments
• Maintain current knowledge of legislation and industry trends
• Serve as a liaison between management and employees by answering questions regarding policies and procedures and resolving work-related problems
• Perform training for management and employees in areas such as ADA, EEOC, sexual harassment, etc.
