An Edmonton client is searching for a Payroll & Benefits Contract to join their team.

Payroll & Benefits Contract Highlights:

·         The Payroll & Benefits Administrator will be responsible for managing payroll processes and benefits administration during a maternity leave period, with an expected return date in September 2025. This role involves overseeing payroll for 80 employees, both hourly and salaried, utilizing a barcode scanning system for timekeeping. The ideal candidate will have experience with payroll runs, familiarity with the AIMS system, and proficiency in tasks such as bank reconciliations, journal entries, and preparing T4s and ROEs.

·         Specific Responsibilities:

·         Manage payroll for 80 employees, both hourly and salaried, using a barcode scanning system for timekeeping.

·         Conduct bank reconciliations and journal entries related to payroll processes.

·         Conduct 2-3 payroll runs during the contract period, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in the payroll process.

·         Utilize the AIMS system for payroll management and reporting.

·         Oversee manual processes for hourly employees, ensuring accuracy in data entry and scanning procedures.

·         Prepare T4s and generate automatic transfers of ROEs to the Service Canada website.

·         Confirm WCB rates and hours, generating generic reports as needed for compliance purposes.

·         Preferably hold a Licensed Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification.

·         Have 10+ years of experience in payroll administration, though not necessarily designated.

·         Work one day per week from home once fully trained, excluding training periods.

·         Provide support in accounts payable tasks as needed until fully engaged in payroll responsibilities.
