Company Description: 

Chattanooga-based automotive supplier.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties: 

Interfaces with production to drive compliance and understanding of quality management system and methods. 

 QMS Audit Support:

  • Schedule of layered process audits
  • Rework turtle charts which define inputs, outputs and supporting processes
  • Ensure "process diagrams" are kept up-to-date
  • Lead internal audits as well as identify gaps in which local instructions are necessary to close gaps
  • Help develop and close out corrective actions for internal and external audit findings
  • Coordinate and assist Quality System auditing and report out

SQA:

  • Maintain and improve the IQ procedure for validation of material lots after Quality Problem Report is issued, including validating the certification and spot-check of materials in each lot
  • Technical review of 8D's and following up with suppliers audits including technical deep-dive when supplier issues need continued attention
  • Maintenance of the Top Worst Supplier list
  • Implement a minimum of 2 improvement ideas per month

Document Control:

  • Maintains inspection and test procedures; control plans, PPAP manuals, process deviations, inspection and testing instructions, etc.
  • Maintains job instructions: specific work or task instructions and checklists, set-up instructions, packaging instructions, etc.
  • Assures the Master list of controlled documents is current at all times.
  • Performs complex administrative and analytical tasks requiring a thorough knowledge of policies and procedures.
  • Update procedures as required.
  • Assures all documents and records are properly recorded, indexed, filed and stored.
  • Operates a computer terminal and other office equipment to fulfill work assignments.
  • Commits to the corporate goals, mission and vision.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have/be:

Minimum education level: Preferably a Bachelor’s degree - minimum a College Diploma

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of production experience
  • 2-3 years in a quality role with strong knowledge of quality methods (8D, problem-solving, Statistical analysis, SPC)

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong sense of teamwork and communication skills
  • Proven track record in upholding safety and quality standards
  • Strong analytical, organizational, computer and administrative skills
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards and willingness to adhere to Code of Ethics and Code of Management
  • Strong knowledge of MS office (Word, Excel, PPT), knowledge of MS Access will be an asset.
