Express is now hiring a Housing Program Lead Caseworker for a local Non-Profit based out of Olympia, WA. This is a direct hire opportunity with the organization. The schedule will be Monday-Thursday from 8AM-5:30PM. The compensation for this position starts at $25.18/hr  with benefits to include Medical, Dental, Vision, 3 weeks of PTO a year, 11 paid holidays, and 401K Simple IRA with a 3% match.  

 

Job Details:  Provide case management and supportive services with the goal of assisting households of domestic violence to gain safe, sustainable, independent housing solutions. Assist the housing program manager in providing ongoing support and guidance to assigned caseworkers and volunteers. Assist Housing Program manager in overseeing administrative work and ensuring that funders’ standards of documentation are met as needed and assigned.

 

Job Duties:

Support in Casework and assist in direct service work.
Contact referrals, and complete screening, case conference with each applicant to determine if services are appropriate. Assign clients to appropriate waitlist and place onto caseworkers’ caseload when appropriate.
Assist in direct service work towards clients who need emergency housing solutions such as relocation support, walk-in clients with housing questions, and help respond to previous/returning clients’ needs and questions as
Fill in for assigned caseworkers when they are absent and support Housing Program Manager as needed when there are gaps in positions. by providing direct services as
Provide in person guidance and direct service assistance to assigned staff for challenging situations and clients.
Collaborate with assigned Housing Caseworkers and other organization programs to ensure clients on current caseloads are receiving wrap around services and to participate in case conferencing
Assist Housing Program Manager as needed with the Volunteer and Training Program Coordinator to recruit possible volunteers or interns for the Housing Program.
 

Coordination and oversight of direct service work in Mason and Lewis
Help coordinate housing supportive services between the Counties of Thurston, Lewis, and Mason for survivors.
Help organize, conduct, and participate in regular communication with partnering agencies: Hope Alliance, Turning Pointe and others
Complete in person check ins for each facility and ensure that partnering agencies are supported as needed
Provide support to housing caseworkers in partnering agencies as
Ensure housing clients in partnering agencies are supported and served in a trauma informed
Maintain and assist in the on-going development of culturally appropriate Housing Program processes and procedures for the rapid re-housing project that align with funder
 

Perform administrative function for the Housing Assistance Program
Complete admin work of incoming new referrals and accepted clients in preparation for
Complete admin work of outgoing clients exiting the housing
Update and maintain comprehensive and complete case notes for assigned clients in a timely
Assist in ensuring that all grant required supportive documents are accurately completed prior to spending any
Ensure all organization's Housing Program required documents are accurately completed in full in a timely
Assist in maintaining an organized and updated client file that passes agency and funders
Enter direct service data into the Washington State InfoNet
Ensure all check requests, credit card expenses, and receipts for assigned clients and caseworkers are submitted in a timely manner and fully comply with program
Help support Housing Program Manager in updating program specific tracking sheets and data outputs to ensure data accuracy in a timely
Assist Program Manager with program specific administration tasks such as creating files, HMIS data entry, scanning, and creating client specific profiles as
 

Provide systems advocacy and network with community partners.
Support Housing Program Manager with networking relationships with community-based systems, including landlords, employers, and other social services
Have knowledge of community housing resources and agencies. Stay updated on local community housing limitations and services by attending trainings and community meetings as
Work with Housing Manager to obtain new landlord relationships and to maintain ongoing contracts with
 

Supervision of Staff
Assist the Housing Program Manager in providing ongoing training, support and guidance to assigned caseworkers, interns, and volunteers
Provide day-to-day support, guidance, feedback, monitoring, trouble shooting, problem solving with assigned
Meet regularly with assigned caseworkers.
Participate in job training for staff, as
Complete input to performance appraisals of assigned staff and submit to the housing program
Ensure assigned staff are completing all admin work including case notes, InfoNet, and trackers.
Maintain regular communication with Housing Program Manager.
Participate in regularly scheduled supervisory and other required
Maintain close communication with Housing Program Manager about client issues and concerns, case updates and complete case conferencing with Manager on a regular
Provide input to Housing Program Manager for program and client needs to ensure services are done in a culturally relevant and trauma informed
 

Attend Housing Program team, direct service, and all-agency meetings as required.
Participate in on-call rotation for the Sexual Assault Response Program (SARP), as required and take helpline shift as needed.
Perform duties as described in a culturally relevant and respectful manner.
 

Job Requirements:

High school or general education diploma (GED).
Minimum 1 year of full-time equivalent experience, or the equivalent, providing direct services and/or case management in domestic violence and/or sexual assault program or other crisis intervention
Minimum 1 year of full-time equivalent experience working with low income and marginalized communities, providing services in a culturally relevant
Ability to uphold the highest standards of confidentiality in all official matters of agency
Competency in resolving conflicts and setting boundaries in a fair and respectful
Intermediate level technology skills, including the full Office Suite, internet, email and basic cell phone functions.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in an organized and effective
Sound decision making ability when assessing complex
Ability to work independently, handle stress effectively and maintain strong relationships in challenging times.
Ability to accurately complete work with high levels of detail and
Have excellent time management and multitasking
Ability to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced crisis intervention work
Ability to communicate respectfully and effectively with people of different socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with supervisor, employees, and volunteers.
Have a telephone; have a car and current automobile liability insurance or have access to
Specific knowledge, experience and abilities acquired must include experience, and/or a willingness to learn the following:

Ability to case-manage individuals and families with complex needs and
Experience with voluntary case management, motivational interviewing, and
Knowledge of government housing programs, services, and Housing First
 

 Preferred (not required):

At least 1 year experience in housing placement services, permanent housing, other low-income housing program
Bilingual in Spanish/English
Current CPR/First aid training certification
