Position Overview: The Assistant Kitchen Manager will work closely with the Kitchen Manager to oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and efficiency. This role requires strong leadership abilities, excellent culinary skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Kitchen Manager in leading and managing the kitchen team, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Support the Kitchen Manager in maintaining food quality and consistency by overseeing food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
  • Monitor inventory levels and food costs, implementing strategies to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and update menus, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative culinary techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and sanitation guidelines, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Assist in handling kitchen-related inquiries, concerns, and feedback from guests in a professional and timely manner.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development among staff.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices, continually seeking opportunities for improvement in kitchen operations.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a culinary leadership role is required.
  • Strong culinary skills with a passion for food and creativity.
  • Proven leadership abilities with a track record of team building and staff development.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
  • Flexible schedule, with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and sanitation practices.
  • ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain it.
