Express Employment Professionals Atlanta NE is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Laboratory Technician for a manufacturing company in the Stone Mountain/Tucker area. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that the products meet the highest quality standards through conducting various laboratory tests and various quality control measures. This is a Temp to hire opportunity for the right candidate.

 

 

DESCRIPTION of WORK INSTRUCTION

PRIMARY DUTIES

• Execute and adhere to all EHS requirement as well as maintain a safe work environment and follow internal safety rules and procedures including wearing proper, PPE as appropriate.
• Enters and back-up all QA data test results in SAP
• Maintains critical equipment and laboratory inventory supplies to support continuous uninterrupted QA lab support.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Maintains and manages obsolete (Expired, damaged & returned goods), Off-spec and rejected material storage area for finished products to minimize waste generation.
• Perform quality inspections on incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products.
• Collect data and analyze color to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Collects time sensitive samples. Retains inventory for raw materials and finished products.
• Immediately notify all affected personnel of any rejected batch/ lot number prior to release of material.
• Provides timely and accurate QA information to production and distribution such as proper documentation, communication of released material, and labeling of pallets that are rejected.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Fabricate and calibrate test equipment as needed
• Works with some direction and supervision of Sr. Lab Technicians and the facility technical manager 

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures
• Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and instruments.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED + 2-year Community college or equivalent AA degree in chemistry or biochemistry, up to 12 months as a laboratory Technician, or 5 years of production experience

 

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT

• Frequent reaching, bending and moving off/on pallets.
• While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to stand.
• The employee is frequently required to walk, climb stairs, use hands to remove or lift boxes, stretch and reach with arms extended, and stoop.
• The employee must, regularly, lift and / or move up to 50 pounds, alone, and occasionally lift and / or move more than 100 pounds, with assistance.
