Salary: $62,000-$68,000 DOE

We are seeking an Assistant Director for a non-profit organization in Malden, MA that provides independent living support for people with intellectual and other related disabilities. This role oversees the advocacy, supervision, and development of support programs for individuals and families, focusing on service excellence and compliance within a leadership role that requires creativity and compassion.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Advocate for and protect the rights and dignity of individuals served, extending these principles to family members and guardians.
  • Provide departmental leadership, supervision, and direction, ensuring the highest levels of support and care.
  • Offer 24-hour emergency and on-call support, maintaining service quality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee service implementation, including individual support plans (ISP), clinical processes, financial systems, and quality assurance practices.
  • Lead service expansion efforts, develop outreach initiatives, and foster stakeholder relationships.
  • Coordinate comprehensive support services, maximizing the utilization of internal and external resources.
  • Act as a liaison among individuals served, families, regulatory bodies, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage program operations, ensuring adherence to service standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee data collection and reporting, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
  • Assist in budget development and fiscal management, maximizing billable hours and monitoring budgetary requirements.
  • Ensure staff training and professional development within assigned programs.
  • Develop and implement policies, practices, and procedures to enhance program operations.
  • Monitor and evaluate program quality, alignment with organizational mission, and goal achievement.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe environment for individuals served, staff, and community members.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of management or leadership experience in organizations serving people with developmental disabilities
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, personal integrity, initiative, and the ability to engage and inspire teams.
  • Strong communication, supervisory, fiscal management, and community organizing skills
  • Assertive, proactive, and thoughtful communication style, capable of building trust and achieving desired outcomes.
  • Commitment to service quality and continuous improvement.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
