Express has an immediate need for a fabricator/fitter in a fabrication shop. The client is currently working (7) 12s, but this position will normally be a weekend day shift. The position will work 5-6 days per week, but the normal shift always include Thursday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday 6AM-6PM, and days off would always be during the week.

 

As a Heat Exchanger Fabricator/Fitter, your primary responsibility is to fabricate and fit components for heat exchangers according to specifications and industry standards. Your duties may include:

1. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand fabrication and fitting requirements.
2. Selecting appropriate materials, such as tubes, plates, fittings, and fasteners, based on specifications provided.
3. Cutting and shaping materials using various tools and equipment, such as saws, shears, and presses.
4. Fabricating components, such as tube sheets, baffles, and support structures, according to fabrication drawings and layouts.
5. Fitting and assembling fabricated components into heat exchanger shells or frames.
6. Aligning and positioning components accurately within heat exchanger assemblies.
7. Welding or brazing components together using appropriate techniques and equipment.
8. Conducting visual inspections to ensure proper fit, alignment, and quality of fabricated components.
9. Performing dimensional checks and adjustments as necessary to meet specifications.
10. Collaborating with engineers, designers, and other team members to troubleshoot and resolve fabrication issues.
11. Following safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
12. Maintaining tools, equipment, and work area cleanliness.
13. Providing input on process improvements and efficiency enhancements.

Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Proven experience in metal fabrication and fitting, preferably in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
3. Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and fabrication specifications.
4. Knowledge of various materials and their properties used in heat exchanger fabrication.
5. Experience with cutting, shaping, and forming metal components using a variety of tools and equipment.
6. Proficiency in welding or brazing techniques, including TIG, MIG, or arc welding.
7. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and measurements.
8. Strong attention to detail and quality.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Effective communication skills.
11. Adherence to safety protocols and guidelines.
