Salary: $15.00-$17.00

The Soil Technician position is a field position. This includes actual physical work in the field as well as person-to-person contacts. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

• Soil sampling on a grid basis using an ATV, learning to operate all GPS equipment and create maps using said equipment and software

• Understanding the procedures used in the lab to test soil for PH, P & K

• Understanding how computerized colored maps are created showing the breakout of PH,  P, & K for each grid.
• Flagging fields to identify what areas need to be treated for lime, phosphate, and potash, as well as assisting the client to understand how the field is to be spread.

This work will be done by walking the field or riding an ATV.
