Responsibilities:

  • Installation & Maintenance: Install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.
  • Read Technical Diagrams & Blueprints: Interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and other technical documents.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work complies with codes and safety standards, including lockout/tagout procedures and wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly and systems operate efficiently.
  • Emergency Response: Available for emergency call-out on a rotating basis to address any urgent issues outside of normal business hours.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with operations teams to identify areas for improvement and to implement process enhancements that will increase efficiency and safety.

Experience:

  • Proven Experience: 3+ years of experience as an industrial electrician, with a strong background in troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
  • Licensing: Valid electrician license in the state of Illinois (or ability to obtain one prior to employment).
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with industrial electrical systems and high-voltage equipment.
  • Safety Training: Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or a vocational program in electrical or electronic studies is preferred. Additional safety training, such as OSHA 10 or 30-hour construction safety, is highly desirable.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy items (up to 50 lbs unassisted), bending, standing, climbing, or walking.
  • Team Player: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
