Position: Code Enforcement

 

Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for ensuring that construction projects and existing buildings meet all necessary regulations and standards? We're looking for a Code Enforcement Professional!

 

 

Responsibilities:

• Ensure residential and commercial construction projects, as well as existing buildings, comply with Codes, Ordinances, and Zoning Regulations.
• Oversee the issuance of permits to contractors and citizens, ensuring they obtain the correct permits for their projects.
• Collaborate with the Planning and Zoning Commission to review new construction and property plans, ensuring they align with regulations.
• Maintain a deep understanding of applicable Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
• Conduct inspections to verify compliance, document findings, and issue reports.
• Interface with contractors, property owners, and the public to provide guidance and answer questions regarding compliance.
• Uphold the highest standards of safety and quality in the built environment.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to inspections and compliance activities.
• Assist in the development and enforcement of local building codes and ordinances.

Requirements:

• Knowledgeable about Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and regulations related to construction and zoning.
• Possession of a valid driver's license in good standing.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Prior experience in building inspection or code compliance is a plus.
