We are currently recruiting for a Property Accountant for a great direct hire opportunity with a client in a Verona, a growing company in the hospitality industry.

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual who has previous accounting experience within the hospitality industry, or similar field, ability to work independently, and possess excellent analytical and communication skills. This position may require additional hours outside of the core business hours due to business needs such as onboarding or offboarding of a new property into our portfolio, end of month reporting, and year-end reporting.

 

 

 

Main Responsibilities:

The Property Accountant will be responsible for overseeing all financial reporting matters for assigned hotel properties, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting of financial data.

1. Manage the month-end close process and procedures for assigned hotel properties, including preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements.
2. Ensure compliance with reporting requirements for 1099s, sales tax, and occupancy tax filings.
3. Assist in the preparation of quarterly bonus calculations and related reporting for assigned properties.
4. Collaborate with property managers and operational teams to develop and review annual property budgets, providing insights and recommendations as needed.
5. Conduct regular financial analysis and variance reporting to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
6. Assist in the implementation and maintenance of financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
7. Assist with coordination of onboarding and offboarding of assigned properties, may include new construction accounting

Qualifications:

- 2 or 4 year degree in Accounting or related field

- 3- 5 years of accounting experience, with experience in the hospitality industry highly preferred

- Strong attention to detail

- Ability to work independently in a growing and fast-paced firm

 

Schedule: Full-time day shift role, with flexible schedule between 7:30am - 5:30pm

 

Pay: Based on previous experience, $65 - $80k annually
