Engineering Manager

  • Compensation: $150,000-$200,000/annual

 Responsibilities:

  • Leading the engineering team and ensuring that key projects and engineering duties are fulfilled.
  • Handling technical questions, proposing budgets for projects, training, and development of new & existing employees
  • Prepare reports on progress of projects
  • Direct and oversee the development and implementation of engineering policies, programs and processes
  • Participate in the development, evaluation, and introduction of new technology changes
  • Ensure that improvements in systems, processes and procedures are identified and delegated to the perspective engineers for team implementation
  • Identify and implement improvements in processes and procedures
  • Provide expertise and focused attention on the company’s growing and emerging technologies
  • Establish plans to improve the cost effectiveness, timeliness, and reliability of engineering department operations
  • Direct the development and implementation of work process changes needed to improve efficiency, quality and productivity
  • Plan and manage the department’s financial resources through defining and developing capital, operations, and maintenance budgets
  • Manage, select, coach, delegate and develop engineering staff
  • Assess the need for, and oversee implementation of programs to ensure employees possess technical and behavioral skills required to support project/operating plans
  • Problem-solving and providing solutions to engineering process problems
  • Identify and recommend improvements
  • Lead, develop, mentor and delegate to engineering team with writing process, policies, procedures, etc.
  • Assign tasks to engineers, gauge progress of various projects and collaborate with customers and various teams/departments on projects
  • Propose budgets, create reports with project manager and other departments for various projects

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree. MBA or Master’s in Engineering field preferred
  • At least 5 years of engineering experience, aerospace and/or polymer industry preferred
  • Demonstrate problem-solving abilities and ability to collaborate with multiple departments on various levels 
  • Interpersonal skills to manage a team of Engineers
  • Skilled in both oral and written communication
  • Experience writing procedures, work instructions, processes and policies
