We are helping a growing Specialty Manufacturer and Supplier in Tipton, IN find an Inventory Specialist In this critical role you will weigh, measure, and check materials to ensure inventory and accounting records are updated and accurate. 50% of your time will be spent with physical inventory, and 50% of your time will be spent on clerical duties.

 

This job opportunity is contract-to-hire, paying $23.00 per hour with a $2,500 signing bonus paid partially at 3 months and at 6 months.

What will you do as the Inventory Specialist?

  • Document Inventory Transactions: Record the quantity, type, and weight of stock materials from various sources (drops, sales, receiving, and production) using our proprietary HPAapp (ERP + CRM Software).
  • Precision Measurement: Utilize scales, rules, calipers, and micrometers to weigh or measure materials accurately.
  • Tagging and Labeling: Prepare measurement, weight, or identification tags and attach them to materials.
  • Quality Assurance: Examine materials for defects and shortages, referring to specification sheets, gauges, and charts.
  • Accuracy Verification: Cross-check material labels, tags, and sales orders to ensure accuracy of specifications, lengths, and weights.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate inventory discrepancies promptly and communicate findings to supervisors and relevant departments.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, QA, Accounting, and Production teams to maintain seamless inventory processes.
  • Physical Confirmation: Physically verify the existence of selected materials for sales orders within our inventory.
  • Perpetual Inventory System: Regularly update and maintain our perpetual inventory system through bi-annual physical weighing, measuring, and counting of all stock.
  • Organized Storage: Sort materials into predetermined sequences or groupings for efficient storage.

What Qualifications Will You Have as the Inventory Specialist?

  • Technology Skills:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
    • Familiarity with spreadsheet software (Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets).
    • Experience with word processing software (Microsoft Word).
  • Knowledge:
    • Prior Inventory Management experience in manufacturing
    • Understanding of production and processing techniques, including raw materials, quality control, and cost optimization.
