Medical Equipment Specialist

Position Summary

The Medical Equipment Specialist’s responsibilities will include working with the Medical Equipment Lead in coordinating and implementing the Medical Equipment Program that lends medical equipment to anyone with special medical equipment needs. This position is responsible for answering phones, scheduling appointments for the pickup or drop off, of equipment, and for delivery of equipment.

 

Position Duties & Responsibilities

  • Answer phones, return calls, schedule, and execute drop off, pick-up and delivery appointments in a timely manner, leaving room for walk-ins.
  • Responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and completing pick-up and delivery of medical equipment in an organized and efficient manner, utilizing the most efficient routes possible.
  • Accurately track and enter client information in the program scheduling software.
  • Tracks phone calls and equipment loaned out for monthly reporting.
  • Inspect all incoming donations of medical equipment carefully for flaws and follow donation procedures.
  • Inspect, clean, and sanitize all returned and new medical equipment donations in a timely fashion.
  • Repair medical equipment when necessary to restore it to sound condition.
  • Inventory all medical equipment with ACCESS inventory numbers.
  • Organize all medical equipment in an orderly, functional, and systematic manner, ensuring that no equipment remains outside of the building at the end of the day.
  • Maintain all company property in good working order including general property and program tools.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Belief in our mission to provide food, warmth, and shelter.
  • Minimum of 1-year direct client contact and/or customer service experience.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively with others.
  • Excellent record keeping and organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in software programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office products and web-based applications.
  • Ability to maintain sustained concentration with attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds consistently.
  • A valid Oregon Driver’s license with a record that is acceptable under our insurance policies
