Shipping and Receiving Clerk – Baton Rouge

EVALUATION HIRE

Monday – Friday 7:30 am – 4:30 pm. Overtime when needed.

$17.50/hr

 

Express Employment Professionals, a full-service staffing agency, is currently seeking a reliable and hard-working Shipping and Receiving Clerk for a local client in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The ideal candidate will have experience in shipping and receiving for FedEx, UPS, and Motor Freight. Candidates will need to have basic computer skills, and experience in shipping and receiving paperwork and tracking.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES for Shipping and Receiving Clerk: 

 

• Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against packing slips or purchase orders, and inspect for damages or discrepancies.
• Prepare outgoing shipments by packing items correctly and securely based off packing slips, selecting appropriate shipping methods, and generating shipping labels.
• Maintain organized and accurate inventory records, including tracking stock levels and conducting regular inventory counts.
• Collaborate with internal departments to fulfill orders accurately and efficiently.
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds and perform manual labor when required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Must have effective computer operating skills. 
• Inventory experience is a PLUS.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment is REQUIRED.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• A minimum of 1 year experience is required.
