Salary: 20.68 – 28.86

PART TIME: Purchasing Agent needed for local healthcare facility.  This position manages the processing of department supply requisitions and Central Supply inventory. 1-2 years inventory experience is required. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

1.           Buyer of formulary items & approved purchases as delegated.

2.           Identifies logistic process improvement opportunities.

3.           Manages returns, recalls, exchanges and back orders and communicates these to staff as needed. Assists leadership in managing various inventory control projects.

4.           Assists in MIS maintenance and accuracy.

5.           Partners with Accounts Payable to ensure proper coding, pricing, and prompt payment of approved orders.

6.           Responsible for initializing new vendor accounts and terms in accordance with policies and legal requirements of public districts.

7.           Provides day-to-day accountability for supply inventories, monitoring volumes, flow, and sourcing.

8.           May lead work on behalf of the supervisor or as directed by management. 

9.           Analyzes product usage and adjusts inventory levels as appropriate to optimize inventory levels.

10.        Anticipates supply needs and communicates potential interruptions to Manager/Supervisor and customers.

11.        Monitors all additions, deletions, and changes to main stores and to unit PAR locations and works closely with departments prior to and during product conversions.

12.        Maintains current Materials Management Information System (Meditech) supplies database in conjunction with EMR Support teams.

13.        Independently makes decisions and takes action regarding supply shortages, keeping management informed, and/or makes recommendations based upon analysis of information.

14.        Assists in development of departmental policies and procedures, in coordination with Supervisors and Managers.

15.        Responsible for creating and editing department templates, working closely with clinical leaders, ensuring all supply needs are satisfied.

16.        Special projects and other related duties as assigned.
