 Systems Technician | Garden City, Kansas

Are you skilled in electronic principles and passionate about troubleshooting and maintaining equipment? We are seeking a Systems Technician I to join a local team. As a Systems Tech, you'll play a crucial role in installing, servicing, and repairing electronic equipment and systems to ensure operational efficiency.

 

Responsibilities:

• Install, test, maintain, diagnose, and troubleshoot various PLC and motion control systems.
• Maintain, install, and troubleshoot industrial electronic equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, communication cables, power distribution cables, and wiring.
• Assist in the assembly and disassembly of equipment, following established maintenance standards.
• Support production start-up, shut-down activities, and R&D testing activities, including wiring, unwiring, and troubleshooting equipment and systems.
• Respond to alarms or out-of-parameter readings, reviewing control logic, checking set points, and testing electrical wiring.
• Maintain accurate performance and maintenance records for electronic and electrical equipment.
• Monitor usage of various systems, perform repairs, and ensure optimal plant production efficiency.
• Install, test, maintain, and troubleshoot computer systems, servers, network equipment, LANs, security systems, and video surveillance systems.

 

Qualifications:

Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to read blueprints, schematic diagrams, and electrical code.
• General computer knowledge and proficiency.

Demonstrated Competencies:

• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with all levels of employees.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for precision equipment.
• Regular and punctual attendance.

Physical Requirements:

• This position requires physical activities such as sitting, standing, walking, climbing, twisting, reaching, bending, and lifting.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 60lbs.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends.

Experience and Education:

• 1 year or more of related electrical work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• A 2-year vocational school in an electrical mechanical-related field or equivalent is preferred.
