Press Brake Operator

We are looking for an experienced Press Brake Operator to set up and operate press brakes to bend, punch, form, and cut metal sheets and plates. The Press Brake Operator will be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints, determining press brake machine settings, performing test runs to verify accuracy, detecting malfunctions, and maintaining equipment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Setting up and operating hydraulic or mechanical press brakes to bend, punch, cut, or form metal sheets, plates, bars, or other stock.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, job orders, charts, layouts, or other specifications to determine machine settings and validation requirements.
  • Selecting and installing proper dies, blades, and tools based on specifications.
  • Performing test runs on materials and making any necessary adjustments to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Detecting malfunctions or issues and performing basic troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all safety policies and procedures
  • Accurately measuring finished pieces and documenting any discrepancies
  • Communicating with supervisors and co-workers to resolve issues or provide status updates.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification
  • 1-2 years of experience operating press brakes
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of press brake capacities and capabilities
  • Experience selecting, installing, and adjusting press brake tooling.
  • Skill in performing precision measurements.
  • Basic mathematical skills and understanding of geometry.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
