Customer Service Associate/Inside Sales

Position Summary:  A Customer Service Associate’s job entails supporting the Inside and Outside sales team in the quoting and processing of orders, conducting quote follow-up, expediting shipment information and other services to potential and established clients. The sales team and customers communicate with a Customer Service Associate to request quotations, process orders and coordinate logistics by telephone or email. The Customer Service Associate’s job is to build quotations on standard products, process orders, process supplier requisitions and communicate pertinent information to customers. A Customer Service Associate will also assist in business development and lead generation efforts to new or underserved markets in order to deploy Outside Sales and marketing resources as needed to obtain and grow business. Customer support is the key to the success of the company and the value of customer service is of the utmost importance.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

 

  • Creating quotations and following up on such quotations.
  • Processing customer orders and acknowledging them back to the customer in a timely manner. 
  • Ensuring appropriate compliance certificates and shipping information are included with order acknowledgements.
  • Participating fully in training sessions, meetings, skill building and professional development classes.
  • Executing a designed region lead generation plan, meeting or exceeding monthly or annual targets assigned to a specific territory.
  • Maintaining and expanding the database of prospects of the organization.
  • Attending sales group meetings concerning sales targets or forecasts, reporting on market situation.
  • Handling cancellations or changes in sales order and communicating the changes with the related departments.
  • Processing and managing supplier requisitions.
  • Coordinating with vendors and/or warehouse for status on orders to ensure the delivery commitment clients is met (expediting).
  • Emphasizing service or product features and benefits, quoting prices, and preparing sales order reports or forms.
  • Creating and delivering qualified chances to sales team and sales management where applicable.
  • May be required to perform other related duties as requested to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

Language Ability:

English, bi-lingual capabilities are a plus but not required (English/Spanish).

 

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide on one’s own and with the use of calculators and/or spreadsheet formulas.
