Forklift Operator

 

Summary

The Warehouse Associate is primarily responsible for processing warehouse transactions and ensure the accuracies of these transactions. Provides, stages and removes packaging materials, waste, and finished product for the Mac n’ cheese operation. Stores and organizes materials in the established areas as directed. Handles all materials in a safe manner that prevents damage. Maintains supplies for the line. Maintains the log on the lift

 

Positions offer day shift 7am - 7pm or night shift 7pm - 7am 

Pay $19.80/hr DOE

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Moves full poly sacks of cheese from warehouse to cheese room.
  2. Loads pallets in Lantech palletizing machine, keeping the magazine full at all times.
  3. Removes finished pallets from stretch wrapping conveyor and stores in finished goods warehouse.
  4. Stages empty pallets to use for finished goods.
  5. Properly stores and removes empty pallets and poly sacks from the cheese room.
  6. Keeps supply of cartons at cartoner at all times.
  7. Supplies shippers to case packer.
  8. Stages cheese, slip sheets, shrink wrap, and foil.
  9. Removes used pallets from cheese room and properly places.
  10. Removes used cardboard from cheese room and properly places.
  11. Removes used poly sacks from cheese room and properly places.
  12. Removes waste shrink wrap and debris.
  13. Retrieves ink cartridges when directed.
  14. Removes cardboard tub/pallet when full.
  15. Organizes retail pallet racking to maximize storage space and efficiency. 
  16. Removes empty pallets from Mac n’ cheese room when directed.
  17. Removes finished product pallets from Mac n’ cheese area and places in finished goods warehouse.
  18. Keeps finished product organized and stacked neatly to prevent damage and leaning over.
  19. Executes directions and plans of manager for proper placement of finished goods.
  20. Supports retail packaging team as necessary.
  21. Possesses a working knowledge of organization and layout of the Mac n’ cheese area.
  22. Makes oneself available to operator at all times.
  23. Works with Manager to coordinate bill of materials and schedule.
  24. Stages product and materials throughout the day, as needed, without direction from the operator.
  25. Supplies ample bulk glue to glue melters.
  26. Other duties as assigned

Education

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience

 

Skills

Ability to read, write and interpret documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers. Ability to speak with vendors in a professional manner. Ability to define problems, collect data, establishes facts and draw valid conclusions.

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Required to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds, with a maximum distance required to carry 50 pounds of 100 feet at least 75% of the time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, push/pull, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, reach with hands and arms and walk up to 1/3 of the time; Sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel 2/3 of the time; talk or hear 1⁄2 the time

 

Environmental Conditions

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud. Have the ability to perform all above tasks in an environment of 90 degrees F or greater up to 50% of the time.

 

Safety Responsibilities

Be able to work and perform tasks related to warehouse safety. Be able to wear appropriate hearing protection for part of the shift. To be able to work safely in and around equipment at all times. Be able to operate a forklift in a manner that conforms with the OSHA standards.
