Production Labourer

Our client, an international construction company located in the South East End, is currently looking for five (5) responsible and reliable Production Labourers to join their team in the manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate is an individual with previous construction or heavy labour related experience and is comfortable working outdoors year-round (frequent brakes provided during cold winter and hot summer days).

Required skills and qualifications: 

• Safety Conscious
• Minimum 1-year experience in a labour role – ideally outdoors (Construction, Landscaping, Shipping/Receiving, Roofing, etc.)
• Must be willing to work outdoors in any weather conditions (Gloves and gear provided during winter)
• Ability to work independently and / or in a team
• Eager to learn new skills
• Capable of lifting up to 50lbs
• Comfortable doing repetitive labour tasks

Assets: 

• Previous experience operating shear or brake press
• Bilingual
• Own vehicle

Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Moving materials from one platform to another
• Loading and offloading products from machines as part of manufacturing process
• Operating stationary manufacturing machines
• Tagging finished products for delivery to sites / clients
• Various special manufacturing projects as assigned
• Maintaining clean and organized workspace free of hazards
• Clearing snow from manufacturing equipment during winter
• Other duties as assigned

 

The wage for this position starts at $21.50 per hour during probation (first 3 months), $24.50 per hour after 1 year and tops at $27.50 per hour at 4 years.

 

Schedule:

Day Shift: Monday to Friday – 7:00am to 4:30pm (3:30pm on Fridays)
