Metal Fabricator/Machine Operator

Express Employment is assisting a local Metal and Wood Door Fabrication shop Direct hiring Level II Set-Up Operators!

Positions Overview: The Level II Set-up Operator/Assembler will work in the Wood Department manufacturing custom doors from raw material to finished good following order specifications.

Schedule: 1st shift 7am-3:30pm, must be able to work overtime as needed.

Compensation: $20/hr. DOE.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Build an accurate and quality part
• Read and understand work orders and templates
• Operate panel saw for undercuts of door width and length
• Operate re-rail/re-style equipment (Power Matic Shaper, planner, router, belt sander, miter saws)
• Perform autonomous maintenance (Cutting area equipment)
• Complete any other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Must be able to read and accurately interpret various documents such as machining sheets, work orders and templates.
• Ability to accurately read tape measurements and calculate basic fractions
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written, high attention to detail skills
• Knowledge of the production process
• Must be able to work independently or with others as needed

Physical Requirements:

• Lift 1-60 pounds regularly frequently (up to 87% in an 8-hour day)
• Push/Pull 100 pounds with assistance infrequently (up to 13% in an 8-hour day)
• Must be able to kneel, squat, stoop, standing in one spot, and work with extended arms (in an 8-hour day).

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED certificate
• 2-4 Years’ Machine Operator Experience in a Manufacturing Setting, Ideal Candidates with setup knowledge, CNC Router experience preferred but not required.
