Description:

Are you ready to take the reins in shaping our civil engineering division? We're seeking a Civil Engineering Department Lead to spearhead the development of our civil division, focusing on building relationships and marketing to key stakeholders such as cities, DOT agencies, and sewer districts. Initially, you'll be tasked with ramping up the workload for the civil department. After establishing the department, you'll have the option to continue in your leadership role or transition to a focus on design or marketing. We anticipate approximately one year in this pivotal role, after which we'll hire additional team members to support your chosen path. The ideal candidate will excel in professional communication with architects and clients, driving projects forward with precision and expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop relationships and market services to key stakeholders including DOT, MSD, and local communities.
• Prepare civil drawings for projects in accordance with company and client standards, focusing on sanitary and stormwater design.
• Coordinate with utility companies in the area to ensure seamless project execution.
• Conduct meetings with clients and code authorities to ensure project compliance and success.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in civil engineering.
• P.E. license.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite.
• Excellent communication skills and work ethic.
• Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate with a team and provide/receive constructive feedback.
• Capability to work independently when necessary.
• Experience with project management and utility companies.
• Familiarity with software such as MicroStation is advantageous.
