The Contents Technician position involves working safely in residential and commercial properties affected by fire, water, storms, or mold. Responsibilities include surveying and evaluating damage to both structural elements and personal items within the property. Technicians categorize and pack personal items, determine salvageable items, and complete cleaning processes for contents, both on-site and at processing facilities. They conduct structure cleaning of affected areas, set up restoration equipment, and maintain thorough notes in the primary operating system. Additionally, technicians communicate with customers regarding job timelines, document job progress with photos, and are responsible for vehicle and equipment maintenance, including unloading and reloading vehicles and keeping equipment clean and organized. They also handle trash removal, record their time accurately, and must pass IICRC certifications.
